Because of the anisotropy of natural diamond in structure, its hardness is also anisotropic, so that the wear of die hole is not uniform and the product is not round. In addition, it is expensive and scarce. Therefore, the fine wire drawing die or finished product drawing die with high quality requirements for the surface are generally used. The other is artificial polycrystalline diamond die, which is an undirected polycrystalline. It has the advantages of high hardness, good wear resistance and strong impact resistance. There is no anisotropy in hardness, uniform wear, long service life of die, which is suitable for high-speed drawing. At present, diamond dies manufacturers of China mostly use polycrystalline die as transition die, rather than as finished die. However, with the improvement of the intrinsic quality and processing level of polycrystalline die, there is a tendency to replace expensive natural diamond as finished die.

From experience, we know that it is very economical for the wire rod industry to strengthen daily maintenance after the diamond dies manufacturers have formulated a set of standards. In order to improve the manufacturing level of the drawing die and make the surface finish of the die hole meet the technological requirements, it is necessary to determine the reasonable pass compression rate and improve the operating conditions of the drawing die. So we should pay attention to the daily maintenance of the mould in the process of using, wash and change frequently, and ensure good lubrication effect in the process of drawing.
